Elementary School

Welcome to ASD Elementary School!

At ASD, we are proud to provide a nurturing, engaging, and collaborative learning environment for our young Hawks in Grades 1 through 6. Our goal is to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, and inspired to learn each day.

We place a strong emphasis on social-emotional development and follow the Responsive Classroom approach. Each morning begins with a Morning Meeting and each day ends with a Closing Circle, helping students build meaningful relationships and a strong sense of belonging within a caring community.

Our academic program

Follows the American educational system and standards in mathematics, science, and English. Instruction in mathematics and English (reading and writing) is aligned with the Common Core State Standards, while our science program is based on the Next Generation Science Standards. Our Spanish program follows SEP guidelines. Students also participate in specialist classes including Makerspace, Art, Physical Education, Music, and Dance.

We encourage students to challenge themselves, explore their interests, and develop the academic and social skills needed for success in middle school. Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
